Random Number Generator
Generate random numbers instantly in your browser with cryptographically secure randomness (crypto.getRandomValues), not Math.random.
About Random Number Generator
Generate random numbers instantly in your browser with cryptographically secure randomness (crypto.getRandomValues), not Math.random. Set an inclusive min and max, choose how many values to draw, optionally require unique integers, add up to six decimal places, then sort and copy the list. Pair it with the Password Generator or Random Letter Generator when you need mixed random data. For the full Math.random vs Web Crypto breakdown, read Math.random vs crypto.getRandomValues. Nothing is uploaded or stored.
How to Use Random Number Generator
- Enter the minimum and maximum (inclusive). Whole numbers are the default.
- Choose how many numbers to generate (up to 10,000) and optional decimal places.
- Turn on Unique for integers when every value must appear only once within the range.
- Click Generate, optionally sort ascending or descending, then copy the list. Everything stays on your device.
Random Number Generator Examples
Dice roll
Min 1, max 6, count 1 - a single fair die result.
Unique sample of 10 from 1-100
Min 1, max 100, count 10, Unique on - ten distinct integers with no repeats.
Bulk list for testing
Min 0, max 9999, count 500, newline separator - a long list to paste into a spreadsheet or script.
Random decimals
Min 0, max 1, decimals 2, count 20 - twenty values like 0.37 for mock percentages.
Common Use Cases
- Pick fair lottery-style or raffle numbers
- Roll dice and board-game values
- Generate test IDs and sample datasets
- Create unique samples without repeats
- Produce random decimals for prototypes

Frequently Asked Questions about Random Number Generator
- Is this random number generator truly random?
- It uses the Web Crypto API (crypto.getRandomValues) with rejection sampling to avoid modulo bias. That is cryptographically secure randomness - stronger and less predictable than Math.random.
- What does Unique mean?
- Unique mode draws without replacement so each integer appears at most once. The count cannot exceed the size of the inclusive range (max - min + 1). Unique mode requires 0 decimal places.
- Can I generate decimals?
- Yes. Set Decimal places from 1 to 6. The tool scales the inclusive range, draws a secure integer, then divides back. Unique mode is disabled while decimals are on.
- What are the limits?
- Bounds are -1,000,000,000 to 1,000,000,000. You can generate up to 10,000 numbers per run. Min must be less than or equal to max.
- Does my data leave the browser?
- No. Generation runs entirely client-side. Numbers are never uploaded, logged, or stored on a server.
